Expanded Toy & Hobby China and Baby & Stroller China to Offer Wider Range of New Products

Toy&Hobby,ChinaToy & Hobby China and Baby & Stroller China are both set to return to the Poly World Trade Center Expo in Guangzhou. Held from April 8 to 10, the fairs will be some of the earliest trade events in the region, and will kick off the industry’s key sourcing season this year.

Toy&HobbyChina2Guangzhou Li Tong Messe Frankfurt Ltd, a joint venture between Messe Frankfurt Ltd. and the Guangdong Toy Association, will host the two fairs. The shows will see a year over year increase in exhibition area of 59 percent to 75,000 square meters, while the exhibitor numbers will jump to 1,300 from last year’s 932.

In China, toy exports jumped almost 14 percent in 2014 from the previous year to more than $15 billion, and the coming editions will provide even more product variety. One of the more popular items this year will be R/C quad copters with built-in HD cameras. Syma Toy Industry Co. Ltd. will be one of the companies to display these products, which have the capacity to take 30-minute videos.

The two fairs have also invited industry members to host the concurrent Market Essentials Summit and Conference. One of the signature events will be the China Toy Marketing Forum 2015, which addresses how suppliers can make a profit when their margins are low. Kirsten Ytterbo, the senior sales and merchandising manager at Toys “R” Us, will attend the forum and give a speech.

In the wake of more visitor countries this year, there will be a seminar session to explain overseas toy and stroller buyers’ sourcing patterns and behavior. Wendy Wen, the senior general manager at Messe Frankfurt, will make keynote speeches to outline what suppliers should focus on to win more overseas orders.

Toy associations in India, Spain, and Thailand have reached out to the organizer with plans to bring buyer delegations to the fair. To better accommodate buyers’ sourcing trips, three-night hotel stays in Guangzhou have been provided for overseas pre-registrants on a first-come, first-served basis.
