UglyDolls

Hasbro‘s first wave of UglyDolls toys hit retail this month, and today STXfilms and Alibaba Pictures released the final trailer for the upcoming UglyDolls film. The CGI animated feature is based on the original plush creations by David Horvath and Sun-Min Kim, first launched in 2001.

In UglyDolls, audiences are introduced to the adorably different town of Uglyville — a place where weird is celebrated, strange is special, and beauty is embraced as more than simply meets the eye. Here, the free-spirited Moxy (voiced by Kelly Clarkson) and her UglyDolls friends live every day in a whirlwind of bliss, letting their freak flags fly in a celebration of life and its endless possibilities. Occasionally, they look to the sky, where a new UglyDoll will appear and be embraced by the community.  What they don’t realize is that those new UglyDolls are “imperfect” creations falling from the toy factory.

In addition to Clarkson, UglyDolls features the voices of Nick JonasBlake Shelton, Janelle Monáe, Wanda SykesEmma RobertsGabriel IglesiasBebe Rexha, Charli XCX, Lizzo, Wang Leehom, and Pitbull. The film will be followed by an animated series on Hulu. UglyDolls hits theaters on May 3.
