Genius Brands International is getting into the music business.

The kids’ entertainment company, known for its content such as Stan Lee’s Superhero Kindergarten on Kartoon Channel and Llama Llama on Netflix, has opened the doors to a new division, Genius Music. Genius Music concentrates on the development and monetization of music publishing rights for new streaming platforms and existing broadcast outlets.

Spearheading this new initiative is the veteran music executive Juan Carlos “JC” Quintero, the newly appointed Head of Genius Music. His goal is to create more revenue streaming opportunities through the music soundtracks of multiple Genius Brands properties (Rainbow Rangers, Baby Genius, and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab, to name a few).

Affiliates from Canada’s WOW! Unlimited Media, the distributors of Castlevania and Bravest Warriors, and Germany’s Your Family Entertainment (Fix and Foxi), will also be involved with Genius Music.

“At Genius Music, we are creating a 21st-century music library from the ground up. I am actively curating seasoned composers and serving as executive music producer to ensure a comprehensive buildout of a vast music library, covering a range of genres (EDM, chill, indie rock, alternative, game, trailer, world, Americana, Latin, etc.).,” Quintero says.

Genius Music will feature 8,000 original premium production tracks specifically created for the content creators on Genius Brands’ Frederator Network, a subsidiary of WOW! Unlimited Media. This prolific animation network has 2,500 channels and reaches more than 1 billion ad-supported monthly views. Through this extensive library and monetization strategy, Genius Music offers more creative opportunities for content creators.
