As global uncertainty has not waivered due to the COVID-19 pandemic, many industry events are being canceled, postponed, or are going virtual.
Licensing Week Virtual is a new, weeklong event that will connect retailers, manufacturers, and the media together with the licensing business. The Global Licensing Group has partnered with Licensing International for the inaugural, online-only event, which will take place from June 15-19.
While the event is not meant to replace Licensing Expo, which was postponed from June to August, it will complement the conference taking place from Aug. 11-13 and Brand Licensing Europe, which will take place from Oct. 6-8 in London.
Each day of the event will spotlight content spanning the categories of brands and lifestyle; character, entertainment, and art; and design and emerging categories, in addition to live pitches, matchmaking services, and more. Three live keynote presentations have been scheduled at 9 a.m. PST for both U.S. and European audiences to tune in.
“The global licensing industry is creative, innovative and robust but, like many others, it has been battered by the COVID-19 storm,” says Maura Regan, president, Licensing International. “It’s our job at Licensing International to help the industry not only weather that in the short term, but to also work together to adapt to this new normal, understand what it means for all of us and help to rebuild the industry long term.”
