The Toy Foundation (TTF) is joining the efforts of the global toy community to support kids and families in Ukraine.

Hasbro veteran Alan Hassenfeld and the Hassenfeld Family Foundation are collaborating with TTF on an effort to work with partners in the U.S. and internationally to aid in the efforts. Hassenfeld has pledged to donate $1 million and is calling upon others in the toy industry to join him in contributing.

“Everything we do as an industry is about children. It’s our responsibility to do everything in our power to try and bring a smile to the faces of these children as they endure this incredible darkness,” Hassenfeld says. “As we watch these events unfold, how can any of us not want to help in every possible way?”

TTF is seeking both monetary and product donations to aid in the support efforts. TTF says that it will formulate a plan in the days and weeks ahead to work with vetted partners to provide aid and resources to the thousands of families that have been displaced and impacted by the Russian invasion.

“The Toy Foundation exists to offer aid and support to children in need everywhere, but especially those who have been impacted by such life-altering and traumatizing events such as this,” says Pamela Mastrota, executive director of TTF. “We are calling on our industry partners to open their hearts and lend their support in any way they can.”
