Board games are getting a technological upgrade.

Hasbro has entered into a partnership with Xplored, an innovator of gaming technology, to transform tabletop games through the integration of smart-sensing technology, AI, and dynamic multimedia content. Xplored will develop a new tabletop platform that integrates digital and physical play for fans.

“As the global leader in tabletop games, we envision a future where technology seamlessly integrates into analog gaming experiences and working with Xplored enables us to deliver innovative gameplay to our players and fans, limitless digital expansions to physical games, seamless onboarding, and powerful AI-driven game mechanics,” says Adam Biehl, Senior Vice President and General Manager of Hasbro Gaming.

The Xplored technology will allow players to stay focused on the games they’re playing while the system intelligently resolves rules and character behaviors, as well as provides innovative gameplay, new scenarios, and ever-changing storytelling events.

“Hasbro has a vast portfolio of brands and represents the most recognizable and iconic names in board games,” says Davide Garofalo, Xplored Founder and CEO. “These games have been bringing joy and entertainment to fans and families for generations and we look forward to continuing that tradition by empowering Hasbro’s brands with our smart Teburu technology to enhance the user experience.”

The technology allows players to learn by playing (no rulebook needed), save games to resume later, and enable remote gameplay, while offering features like immersive contextual sound and connected dice.
