HEXBUG Box Sumo

HEXBUG introduced its latest brand — HEXBUG Box Sumo — a new collectible range that pairs wrestling with robotics.

Available now through the HEXBUG website, the range will hit mass and specialty retail beginning July 27, supported by a YouTube web series that premiered last month.

Box Sumo characters are powered by vibration technology. Kids can place them into the sumo ring and use the vibrations to push their opponents out of the ring. The range includes more than 60 characters to collect, including Reaping Reggie, Mighty Mildred, Savage Saint Nick, and Heavy Weight Jose. Kids and collectors can also create DIY characters, backdrops and props, with tools available to be printed from the HEXBUG website.

“Box Sumo is the first product of its kind from the HEXBUG brand with a fun, collectible element and we are excited to introduce it to the market,” says Tony Norman, CEO & president of HEXBUG. “We are constantly innovating to bring toys that are enticing for consumers, and while Box Sumo still has robotics at its core, this latest venture highlights that HEXBUG is more than just robotics!”

HEXBUG’s goal is to foster the love of STEM and robotics from a young age. The company offers more than 100 different toys that range from buildable playsets to battling robots for all ages.
