Hornby has entered into a partnership with Macmillan Children’s Books to celebrate the launch of Kidnap on the California Comet.

The second book in the Adventures on Trains series from authors M.G. Leonard and Sam Sedgman is being promoted via a special hub on Hornby’s UK website on which families can find a host of content including printable activities and author videos.

Additionally, 10 leading independent bookstores in the UK will feature window displays that showcase Hornby’s Industrial Freight Train Set alongside the first two installments of the book series, The Highland Falcon Thief and Kidnap on the California Comet. The partnership will continue through the holiday season for the release of the third book, Murder on the Safari Star.

“I’m over the moon to be partnering with Hornby, who has filled my heart with joy ever since I was old enough to play with my dad’s train set,” says Sam Sedgman. “We wrote Adventures on Trains to share the fun and excitement of trains with young readers everywhere and nobody understands that feeling better than Hornby.”

“Hornby has been a part of my life since I was nine, and is still now, every time my sons, husband, and I get out our sets to build during the holidays,” says M.G. Leonard. “It’s a dream come true to be working with Hornby. I couldn’t be more excited about the adventures with trains we’re going to have together!”

The Adventures on Trains series is published in the U.S. by Macmillan’s Feiwel & Friends imprint. The first book is available now with the second slated for release in February.
