Insight Editions is growing its company.

The pop-culture publisher revealed a restructuring of its editorial, sales, and marketing departments. This shift is the latest in a year of strategic hiring, product development, and growth.

To begin with, Vanessa Lopez — formally an executive at Insight Editions — has been promoted to vice president and co-publisher in recognition of her role in expanding the company’s licensing and strategic partnerships. In her new role, Lopez will manage Insight Editions’ licensing program and oversee in-house divisions. Each division will be headed by a specific program director, including the following:

  • Jamie Thompson, formally an executive editor at Chronicle Books, will head the Insight Gift, Lifestyle, and Entertainment division.
  • Make Degler, former vice president and general manager of Penguin Random House’s Prima Games business unit, will head Insight Games, Sports, and Music.
  • Chris Prince, award-winning editor of deluxe art books and collectible editions, will head Insight Film.
  • Vicki Jaeger, formally an editorial director at Insight Editions, will join the team as vice president and group managing editor.

“This new structure positions Insight Editions to build on the success we’ve experienced over the last year,” says Tara Catogge, chief operating officer at Insight Editions. “We continue to experience remarkable growth.”

This year, Insight Editions divulged its major partnership with New Regency to co-create deluxe art books inspired by films such as The Northman, Heat, and Fight Club. The company also launched a new imprint called Reinhart Pop-Up Studios with author and paper engineer Matthew Reinhart, as well as revealed an extensive Pokémon collection.

In tandem with its editorial restructure, Insight Editions has streamlined its domestic sales and marketing teams under Chris Bauerle, who was promoted to executive vice president of sales & marketing. These two teams will focus on a stronger alignment on lead titles, a deeper collaboration with content partners, and aggressive growth in point of sale.
