Adventure Publishing Group, publisher of The Toy Book, The Toy Report, and the Pop Insider, named James Zahn as senior editor effective immediately. Best known as publisher of The Rock Father magazine, Zahn is a writer, media personality, and industry commentator. Zahn has already been part of the Adventure Publishing family since 2016 as a Toy Insider Parent Advisory Board member and contributor of feature articles for The Toy Book and commentary for the Pop Insider.
Zahn has been covering toys and children’s entertainment for decades, and his coverage of the Toys “R” Us bankruptcy was nationally recognized. He regularly serves as a brand ambassador and spokesperson for several globally-recognized pop culture and lifestyle brands, in addition to consulting for a number of toy and consumer products manufacturers. In 2018, he made his first panel appearance at Comic-Con International (SDCC) in San Diego, in which he spoke on the future of toy retailing in the wake of the Toys “R” Us closure.
Zahn has more than 25 years of experience in the entertainment and publishing industries, and has been featured on CNN, Fox Business, NBC, ABC, G4, The Chicago Tribune, Fangoria, Starlog, and more. He’s appeared as a music expert on CNN’s AC360 alongside Anderson Cooper, and has been interviewed by Larry King. In the past he served as a writer for the Netflix Stream Team, Fandango Family and PBS KIDS, penned articles for Sprout and PopSugar, and was a contributor to Chicago Parent.
