Award-winning educational resource company, hand2mind, is kicking off the new year by continuing its tradition of giving.

The company recently donated $650,000 in hands-on resources to the Kids in Need Foundation, an organization that provides free school supplies to teachers and students to ensure every child is prepared to learn and succeed. The donation of books, readers, math, and science resources from hand2mind will be distributed to kids throughout the Chicagoland area.

“With 2020 behind us, we want to make sure that our community partners start the new year with the materials they need to serve families struggling with this unique school year,” says hand2mind Marketing Director Leslie Lee. “Our relationship with Kids in Need Foundation continues to flourish and as a company, we couldn’t think of a better way to kick off 2021 than by supporting Chicago-area students and championing their ability to learn by doing.”

For more than 50 years, hand2mind has provided high-quality, hands-on materials to expand their core curriculum with resources spanning math, science, STEM, and literacy.

Last year, hand2mind debuted hand2mind teach@home, a digital resource in which families can find teach@home, free daily lessons and activities for K-5 students. The teach@home site offers an easy-to-follow schedule by grade, and daily, grade-specific, teacher-delivered video lessons for math and literacy. The site also offers worksheets for the math and literacy lessons in English and Spanish, and daily special activities including art, STEM, social studies, and more. In total, the program includes a full 12 weeks worth of lessons.
