Kinder Joy, the egg from Ferrero with a creamy chocolate treat in one half and a toy in the other, is partnering with the NBA to bring eggs featuring famous basketball mascots.
The different mascots featured include Atlanta Hawks, Boston Celtics, Charlotte Hornets, Chicago Bulls, Houston Rockets, Los Angeles Clippers, Miami Heat, Milwaukee Bucks, Orlando Magic, Philadelphia 76ers, San Antonio Spurs, and Toronto Raptors.
“There’s nothing more memorable than being with your kids when they watch their first NBA game,” says Miguel Zorrilla, Vice President of the Kinder Joy brand. “Whether you’re watching at home or in the stands, the NBA provides families the space to bond – and we’re hoping to play a small part in that with Kinder Joy’s new NBA collection. Our variety of mascot toys is a way families can pass down fandom from one generation to the next.”
Each of the mascots can be scanned with the Applaydu app, which uses augmented reality to allow kids to play with Kinder Joy toys. The app is adding special features for the new basketball eggs and can be found on the App Store and Google Play.
The new Kinder Joy NBA eggs are available now at a variety of retailers. The eggs mark a continued effort by Kinder Joy to explore different themes for the toys within its eggs. Other previous examples include eggs themed around Easter, space, and even the Avatar films.
