K’NEX Expands Lines, Collects for United Way

K’NEX is expanding many of its lines—including its Collect & Build Series and Kid K’NEX line—and adding new building sets.

The company will debut four new themed Multi-model set centers: Fire Rescue, Hi-Flyers, Revving Racers, and Pirate Adventure. The sets each feature 10 unique models except for the Pirates set, which features 20 different models. Hi-Flyers, Revving Racers, and Pirate Adventure will be available in September, while Fire Rescue will debut this month.

K’NEX’s new Monster Truck Assortment features at least 50 parts to build four Monster Trucks: Fang, Dragon, Ogre, and Twin Serpent. Kids can build the trucks separately or combine all four to create the Ultimate Monster Truck. The set will be available this month.

The company is expanding its Collect & Build Series by introducing the Construction Crew Series 2, and Amusement Park Series 2. The Construction Crew Series 2 builds on the first series by including a bulldozer, giant excavator, and dump truck. The set, available in August, includes more than 200 parts to build a heavy-duty vehicle and dump truck

The Amusement Park Series 2 expands with three new rides: the Corkscrew Coaster, Wonder Wheel, and Vertical Viper Coaster. The rides are motorized, and the set, also available in August, comes with more than 300 parts.

This month, K’NEX will also introduce three new sets to its KID K’NEX collection: Flying Friends, Construction Crew, and Big Building Tub. The sets are designed for children ages 3-5.

Flying Friends is an aviation-themed building set, complete with blocks, rods, connectors, and personality parts, Kids can building flying buddies such as airplanes and helicopters. Construction Crew is a 23-piece set, which kids use to build construction vehicles, and Big Building Tub features 50 pieces for more than 10 models, plus a reusable tub for storage.

K’NEX has also announced a fundraising initiative benefiting The United Way. The company will donate 10 percent of sales from KNEX.com during the month of February to the North Penn United Way chapter. K’NEX will also accept additional donations through its website. Like many other aid organizations, the United Way is responding to the tragedy in Haiti by supporting long-term recovery efforts to rebuild lives and infrastructure, and by helping residents address educational, financial, and health-related challenges.
