Last week at New York Comic Con, The Lego Group unveiled Lego Nexo Knights, a new, original Lego property depicting a medieval kingdom set in a futuristic world.
Lego Nexo Knights follows five young knights who can download special powers into their shields as they engage in battles with Jestro (the evil court jester), his sidekick the Book of Monsters, and their Lava Monster Army. Clay Moorington leads the modern, unlikely band of knights, which includes a not-so-sweet princess, a hipster, and a giant. With the help of the Great Digital Wizard, Merlok 2.0, the knights will join forces to defeat Jestro and keep the Kingdom of Knighton safe.
Lego will debut 14 new building sets on January 1. There will also be a Lego Nexo Nights: Merlok 2.0 gaming app for iOS and Android devices, and a 20-episode animated adventure-comedy TV series debuting in December.
Digital integration will allow kids to interact with the brand across multiple platforms by finding more than 150 unique Lego Nexo Knights powers scattered across the Kingdom of Knighton. The powers can be found within the building sets, online, in print, and directly in the TV content. Once kids discover a new power, they can scan it into the app and build their collection to join the knights to help defeat Jestro.
