LEGO Stranger Things

Following a series of rumors and leaks, The LEGO Group officially revealed its LEGO Stranger Things The Upside Down building set.

Available now for LEGO VIP Members, and at retail June 1, The Upside Down is a 2,287-piece deluxe play set that comes packaged in 11 bags, allowing the real world and the Upside Down to be built at once for a shared building experience. Based on the Netflix original series, the Byers’ house includes eight Stranger Things minifigures — Eleven, Mike Wheeler, Lucas Sinclair, Dustin Henderson, Will Byers, Joyce Byers, Chief Jim Hopper, and the Demogorgon — each with iconic deco, from Dustin’s Waupaca, Wisconsin T-shirt to Eleven’s Eggo waffle.

Tapping into the classic ’80s vibe of the show, LEGO marketing includes a commercial that appears to be ripped straight from a lost VHS cassette.

Additionally, the set comes with Chief Hopper’s police cruiser (based on a 1980 Chevrolet K5 Blazer), complete with a removable roof for easy access to the interior.

Details of the house include the famed living room, with alphabet wall with a light-up function, couch, coffee table, telephone, axe, “Have you seen me?” flyer, and bear trap; Will’s bedroom with boombox, bed, desk, desk lamp, drawings and movie posters; dining room with armchair, boxes that store Christmas lights, fantasy game rule book, and a potted plant; attic space with Mind Flayer drawing stickered element, and a wizard hat for “Will the Wise.”

When flipped to the Upside Down, the mirror image of the house is vine-covered and dilapidated.
