The LEGO Group is expanding its long-term digital goals and launching a digital office space in Copenhagen to help foster hundreds of digitally focused employees. This new office space features a myriad of collaborative spaces, a welcoming canteen, and — of course — a gamer room.

Currently, the office is home to 100 employees, a mere fraction of LEGO’s goal to house 400 workers. The new space is designed to enhance digital ways of working and reflect the company’s playfulness and mission to inspire and develop kids.

“Our digital transformation is one of the single largest investments the LEGO Group will make in a generation,” says Atul Bhardwaj, LEGO’s chief digital and technology officer. “We’ve been blending physical and digital experiences for many years and are excited by our progress.”

The office is specifically catered to remote workers and aims to help balance in-person work with the company’s digital spaces. Although this office space is only one of LEGO’s four digital offices, the toy company plans to continue to build more digital spaces across the world. Offices in Billund, London, and Shanghai will also be expanded to accommodate the growing team, which is expected to triple in size over a three year period to more than 1,800 employees globally.

LEGO Group’s digital transformation has already begun, with investments in areas such as e-commerce capabilities and in new products like LEGO’s Super Mario. The company will also step up its digital investment across all areas of business from play, to shopping, and even to technology infrastructure
