Little Rebels is off to a solid start on Kickstarter.
The line of plush dolls and books from creator Marjorie Spitalnik launched its latest crowdfunding effort this past Sunday in honor of International Women’s Day. Little Rebels celebrates the stories of female icons including Malala Yousafzai, Amelia Earhart, and Marie Curie. Spitalnik recently appeared on an episode of the “Power Kid Podcast” in which she discussed using her resources to build a grassroots toy company and lift up the women around her.
Using feedback received during pitch meetings at Toy Fair Dallas last fall, Spitalnik upgraded plans for Little Rebels to include new features such as an augmented reality (AR) component.
The all-or-nothing Kickstarter campaign runs through April 6 and seeks a goal of $10,187 to enter production. While the plans are in order, Little Rebels are manufactured in China, which means there may be some delay in shipping, which Spitalnik notes in the campaign details.
Estimated shipping, pending coronavirus-related delays, is expected to begin in July.
