Canon Busters - Netflix

Manga Entertainment, Ltd. appointed Reemsborko Ltd. as the worldwide licensing agent for Cannon Busters.

Created by LeSean Thomas (The Boondocks, Legend of Korra, Children of Ether, Black Dynamite), Cannon Busters is based on the characters and story first published by Udon Comics/Devil’s Due in the 2005 comic of the same name. The 12-part anime series will debut as a Netflix global original series later this year. Thomas initially explored the property in a pilot episode funded with a successful Kickstarter campaign in 2014. Cannon Busters will launch in over 190 territories globally.

“It is a privilege to be working on this great property,” says Max Arguile of Reemsborko Ltd. “There is already strong interest — apparel is going into Hot Topic in time for launch and a sportswear range is coming too.”

Arguille notes that additional licensees will be announced soon, with a line of collectible pin badges, statues, and puzzles in the works through partners in the U.S., UK, and Europe.

“I am both humbled and excited about the opportunity to create something truly international in the growing, mainstream appeal of anime,” says Thomas. ” Both Netflix and Manga Entertainment have been integral partners in my vision for a truly globalized approach to Japanese animation production and I am excited about what’s to come for fans of anime with this fun, new entry into the medium.”

Cannon Busters will be produced entirely in Japan at Satelight Inc. (Macross). It will be produced in Japanese and dubbed into additional languages including English, German, Spanish, Italian, and French, with multiple subtitled languages planned for territories around the world.
