The battle for Eternia is rolling into the die-cast aisle.
Following years of success with Hot Wheels Character Cars inspired by Star Wars, Marvel, DC Comics, Disney, and more, Mattel is tapping into its own intellectual property (IP) for a new range inspired by the Masters of the Universe franchise.

The first wave of 1:64-scale Masters of the Universe Hot Wheels Character Cars includes a beefy selection of vehicles that take design cues from He-Man, Skeletor, Teela, Beast Man, and Man-At-Arms. The individual Character Cars are available at major retailers and specialty shops in addition to online retailers, including Entertainment Earth. A five-pack box set is also slated for release later this month.

While the Character Car lineup is by far the boldest expression of Masters of the Universe to hit the die-cast aisle, this isn’t the first time that the brand has been represented in Hot Wheels form. Mattel has sprinkled Masters of the Universe logos and artwork into various Hot Wheels assortments dating back to 1986 when the company issued a “Hiway Hauler” box truck labeled “Masters of the Universe Toy Delivery” on its side.
As part of the larger, ongoing franchise relaunch, Masters of the Universe vehicles are also appearing in the Hot Wheels Premium Pop Culture and Entertainment lines this year.
