Welcome to this week’s edition of The Toy Book‘s Media Mashup, a roundup of all the latest in toyetic entertainment content that should drive sales in the toy department. This week, Spin Master’s PAW Patrol gears up for a special; The Pokémon Co. International drops a title and trailer for its latest series; Hasbro’s Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves gets a final trailer; and Mattel’s Thomas & Friends rides the rails for a new special. PAW Patrol: All PAWS On Deck

Nickelodeon and Spin Master are celebrating a milestone 10 years of PAW Patrol with an all-new one-of-a-kind primetime special premiering Monday, April 24, at 7 p.m. (ET/PT). The half-hour anniversary special, All PAWS on Deck, produced by Spin Master Entertainment, will reunite every PAW Patrol pup from the past and present, as they team up with Ryder for their biggest adventure yet. Pokémon New Horizons: The Series

In Pokémon Horizons: The Series, dual protagonists Liko, whose partner Pokémon is Sprigatito, and Roy will encounter many characters during their journey, including a group led by Friede and Captain Pikachu called the Rising Volt Tacklers. Traveling across the Pokémon world on an airship, the Rising Volt Tacklers include Orla, who enjoys mechanical and electrical work and is accompanied by her partner Pokémon, Metagross; Murdock, who is skilled at cooking, and his partner Pokémon, Rockruff; Mollie, who specializes in healing treatments, and her partner Pokémon, Chansey; and Ludlow. Liko and Roy will also come across Amethio, who is joined by his partner Pokémon, Ceruledge, and belongs to an organization called the Explorers, as well as a popular video streamer known as Nidothing. The Pokémon Co. International says that details on the series premiere outside of Japan will be revealed at a later date.


Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves

Paramount Pictures unveiled the final trailer for the much-anticipated D&D film. Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast have unleashed a wide array of new toys and games for the entire family. See more — including our exclusive D&D cover — in the 2023 edition of The BIG Toy Book, available now. Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves hits theaters on March 31.

Thomas & Friends: The Mystery of Lookout Mountain

From Mattel Television and Corus Entertainment’s Nelvana, Thomas & Friends: The Mystery of Lookout Mountain will stream globally on Netflix on Saturday, April 1. The special will first be broadcast on Canada’s Treehouse TV on Sunday, April 2, and in the US, Cartoonito on Cartoon Network on Monday, April 3. Tied to Autism Acceptance Month in April, the movie is the first Thomas & Friends special to feature Bruno the Brake Car, the iconic franchise’s newest friend, an autistic character who was introduced to fans in September 2022 as part of the popular Thomas & Friends: All Engines Go series. Companion toys are rolling out at retail now.



BEYBLADE BURST QuadStrike

ADK Emotions’ BEYBLADE QuadStrike features 26 22-minute-long episodes. The season premieres on April 3 at 3 p.m. on Disney XD, followed by a May 8 release on Hulu. After the show premieres on both platforms, the new episodes will be available to stream on YouTube. This season features a new theme song by Our Last Night and a companion line of toys from Hasbro.


Crash Team Rumble

Crash Bandicoot is back in action with an all-new video game that’s sure to bring gamers’ nostalgia flooding back. Toys For Bob and Activision Publishing have teamed up to bring fans the latest addition to the zany, action-packed franchise, Crash Team Rumble. Set to release on June 20, Crash Team Rumble pins players against one another to battle it out as the colorful characters from the Crash universe. PS5|PS4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.


LEGO 2K Drive

LEGO 2K Drive is first release in a multi-title partnership between 2K and The LEGO Group to develop AAA LEGO games. With 2K’s proven expertise in creating high-quality and engaging interactive entertainment properties and the LEGO Group’s unprecedented cultural impact, the partnership will evolve the iconic LEGO games experience fans know and love in exciting new ways. The racing game arrives on May 19 for PS5|PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and Steam.


My Little Pony: Tell Your Tale

The YouTube series inspired by Hasbro’s My Little Pony brand is headed for Netflix beginning March 27. Kids can also catch another slice-of-life series, My Little Pony: Make Your Mark, and the My Little Pony: A New Generation movie on the platform.
