Basic Fun! is joining forces with the Baha Men and Adopt-a-Pet.com to raise awareness for pet adoption on National Mutt Day this Friday.
Pet lovers can join in on the fun by creating videos of themselves dancing to the Baha Men’s hit song, “Who Let the Dogs Out,” which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this month. Participants can grab their Pound Puppies or their real puppies to dance along with them, then post their videos on TikTok and IGTV. TikTok star Katie Feeney will lead the social media dance party with the help of her two adopted pups.
“We’re thrilled to team up with the Baha Men and adopt-a-pet.com to spread awareness about pet adoption,” Basic Fun!’s Head of Brand Development Ashley Mady says. “The Pound Puppies have always represented lovable pups hoping to be rescued from the ‘pound’ and brought home to a new family. The world is filled with real ‘Pound Puppies’ who are looking for their forever homes. Celebrating National Mutt Day every year is an impactful way we can help raise awareness about this important cause.”
In addition to finding forever families for homeless animals, Adopt-a-Pet.com has also launched Rehome, a peer-to-peer pet adoption platform that helps families who can no longer care for their pets find them reliable new homes. Rehome is free to use and provides useful tools to assist in the adoption process.
