In this year’s final episode of the “Power Kid Podcast,” host Phil Albritton of Power Kid Design speaks with Andy Wiseman, founder and CEO of RedwoodVentures.
Wiseman was recruited into the toy industry following a successful run at Pure Fishing, home to some of the most well-known brands in fishing tackle. At MGA Entertainment (MGAE), Wiseman played a part in the expansion of the Bratz line, after which he joined Cepia to pioneer the U.S. launch of ZhuZhu Pets. In 2010, Wiseman founded RedwoodVentures, which has grown into a powerhouse known for speed and innovation, with distribution of its toys across 65 countries.
In the episode, Albritton and Wiseman discuss how relocating to Bentonville, Arkansas — home to Walmart — opened many doors. Additionally, they discuss the challenges of creating and marketing the IDO3D 3D writing system, and Wiseman details his personal product philosophy: Meaningful, Believable, Ownable, Sustainable (MBOS).
RedwoodVentures’ Foodie Surprise collection is featured in the Toy Insider‘s Holiday Gift Guide in one of this year’s top toy trend areas: Layers of Fun.
