Rubie’s Costume Co. is a silver level sponsor for the Bentonville Film Festival (BFF), which is kicked off on Tuesday and runs until May 7 in Bentonville, Ark. BFF is an annual event that celebrates women and diversity in entertainment media. Founded by actress Geena Davis and entrepreneur Travis Drinkwater, the festival will deliver sustainable solutions and initiatives to support its mission in the entertainment industry.
Rubie’s will attemp to break the Guinness World Record for the “Most People Dressed As Superheroes” at the Arvest Ballpark this Sunday at 9:00 a.m. The event will take place before the festival’s annual baseball game that will honor the 25th Anniversary of A League of Their Own, starring Davis. Players in the game will include some of the original cast members from the movie such as Davis, as well as Walmart corporate employees, and BFF sponsors including Howard Beige and Rubie’s Richard Tinari.
Rubie’s will donate superhero costumes to the first 2,000 people to arrive at the park. The 2010 event currently holds the record, with 1,582 people dressed as superheroes.
Pedigree will also sponsor a free pet adoption stand at the event, and Rubie’s Pet Shop Boutique will give away a free superhero pet costume to everyone who adopts a puppy during the festival.
