Rubie’s Costume Co. officially supported the “Saturday Halloween Movement,” a national petition to permanently move Halloween to the last Saturday in October instead of October 31.

In a flyer, Rubie’s calls for others to sign the petition, listing four reasons it believes moving the holiday makes sense.

These reasons include more time for celebrating, more daylight hours for trick-or-treating, and not worrying about work and school the next day. The flyer also notes that 51 percent of millennials say Halloween is their favorite holiday, so “why cram it into rushed evening weekday hours, when it deserves a full day?”

The flyer also includes a QR code to scan that goes directly to the petition. The petition is also available at www.rubies.com
