Guru Studio teamed up with Sesame Workshop to produce a 3D-rendered miniseries inspired by the classic and beloved children’s story, Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White. The series will be streaming on HBO Max in 2024.
Production on Charlotte’s Web began this month, and is the second collaboration between Guru Studio and Sesame Workshop. Their first project, a Sesame Street spin-off titled Sesame Street’s Mecha Builders, debuted earlier this year and features Elmo and his friends, Cookie Monster, and Abby Cadabby, reimagined as robot-superheroes-in-training who use their STEM superpowers to solve problems.
“Having collaborated with Guru on an earlier series, we know them to be a leader in animated storytelling, captivating and inspiring kids and families around the world with their stunning visuals,” says Kay Wilson Stallings, executive vice president, creative and production, Sesame Workshop. “We’re excited to start production on a faithful retelling of one of the most beloved children’s novels and address the important topics of life, friendship, and selflessness.”
Guru Studio and Sesame Workshop working together on both Charlotte’s Web and Sesame Street’s Mecha Builders helps both brands reinforce some of the main objectives of their missions by teaching the importance of friendship and selflessness to the audiences of both series. The recreation of Charlotte’s Web revives and introduces the tale of the loveable pig and spider duo to a new generation of kids so the story can continue to remain as cherished as it has been for seven decades.
