Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. revealed that Sharon Price John, Build-A-Bear Workshop President and Chief Executive Officer, is launching her first book with Forbes Books.
Stories & Heart: Unlock the Power of Personal Stories to Create a Life You Love follows John’s unlikely combination of small-town southern roots and big-city Ivy League education. Structured as a compilation of a series of life stories, John’s anecdotes inform the lessons, insights, and tools that she teaches in each chapter.
“The goal is for this book to be as much a journey for you as it was for me,” says John. “This is an opportunity for you to think about what matters in your life while hopefully revealing an appreciation and understanding that your personal stories, and more importantly, the meaning you have woven in them not only impact your journey but can be predictive of it.”
To help celebrate Build-A-Bear’s 25th anniversary and in honor of Stories & Heart’s launch, the company has pledged $25,000 to the Build-A-Bear Foundation, which focuses on childhood literacy and the wellbeing of kids. And in addition to the book’s debut, John created a Stories & Heart podcast series. Each episode follows trailblazers and groundbreakers who share their personal lives to demonstrate their acquired wisdom. The podcast can be found on ForbesBooksAudio, Apple, and Spotify.
