Spielwarenmesse is bringing the toy industry together again from Feb. 1-5. 2023, in Nuremberg, Germany. The next Spielwarenmesse Toy Business Forum will focus on new trends in the industry, digitalization, sustainability, and diversity.

The divisive world of the metaverse and other digital realms that toymakers and retailers might utilize will be discussed extensively by a number of different speakers. Achim Himmelreich of Capgemini Deutschland will speak on retail and the metaverse, Niklas Wittkowski of TikTok will talk about marketing to Gen Z, and Julia Fring, project manager at the Institute for Retail Studies IFH KÖLN will be talking on phones as a tool for shopping.

Sustainability is a cause often important to the modern consumer, and one that is continuing to become more key within the industry as well. Frank Bittel of PPM Planning + Project Management Pro will talk about sustainable shopfitting, and Sharon Keilthy, founder of an ecologically focused toy store, will share her story.

Diversity in any industry is important to reaching a variety of markets and representing a variety of perspectives, the toy industry being no exception. Olaolu Fajembola and Tebogo Nimindé-Dundadengar of Tebalou as well as Sascha Verlan of Wort & Klang Küche will be speaking about areas such as diversity and gender in toys.
