Marvel United

Spin Master Games and CMON have teamed up to launch the Marvel United game on Kickstarter. The campaign gives fans the chance to get their hands on the ultimate edition of the game and access to exclusive figures and collectibles that won’t be found at retail.

“We are excited to unveil the first-ever Marvel game on Kickstarter, delivering a truly unique and original game to fans,” says Elizabeth LoVecchio, vice president of Spin Master Games. “Spin Master takes pride in great partnerships and working with CMON exemplifies this value. Launching Marvel United on Kickstarter gives us the opportunity to bring the ultimate version of this game to superfans with exclusive expansions and characters that can be mix and matched in the game.”

The Marvel United campaign marks CMON’s 42nd Kickstarter. The company has successfully funded 41 campaigns to date and have raised over $60 million in total, making it Kickstarter’s No. 1 funded company.

Fans who pledge $60 will receive the Marvel United core box and all applicable stretch goal rewards, which are unlocked throughout the campaign. Every backer above $60 will receive three additional Kickstarter-exclusive mini-figures (Nick Fury, Hawkeye, and Corvus Glaive); a Kickstarter-exclusive expansion pack featuring The Infinity Gauntlet ($30 add-on); and even more exclusive reveals, which will be announced later in the campaign (many of which will be added to pledges for free).

The game itself features never-before-seen chibi-style artwork and CMON-detailed miniatures of fan-favorite heroes and villains from the Marvel universe. The top-secret project has been in development for almost two years. The board game was designed by award-winning and cult-favorite game designers Eric Lang (Blood Rage, Cthulhu: Death May Die, Rising Sun) and Andrea Chiarvesio (Kingsburg).

The game can be played with two to four players, and expansion sets can be added for more variety.

If the project reaches its funding goal of $150,000, the core box is scheduled to be delivered to backers at the same time the game hits retail this fall, with any applicable stretch goals and Kickstarter exclusive rewards to be delivered soon after.

The live 22-day campaign can be found on kickstarter.com.
