Spin Master is making plans to bring a host of video game-themed products into the toy department.

The company inked a multi-year licensing deal with Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) under which Spin Master will serve as the global master toy licensing for the Sony PlayStation brand and first-party, SIE-owned PlayStation video game titles. The deal includes rights to produce a host of new products across multiple categories, including action figures, collectibles, playsets, plush, roleplay, vehicles, R/C, games, and puzzles.

“Both SIE’s PlayStation and Spin Master share a common goal, to inspire and entertain consumers through the relentless pursuit of innovation,” says Spin Master President of Toys and Chief Commercial Officer Chris Beardall. “Together we will bring the interactive storytelling of Sony’s immersive PlayStation games to life in an all-new way, extending the fandom from digital to reimagined physical play.”

The deal, brokered by Sony Pictures Consumer Products, covers rights to SIE’s PlayStation game console brand, — including PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 — and the existing library of SIE-owned games and any that will be released during the terms of the agreement. Spin Master plans to create products inspired by God of War, Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, Uncharted, and more.

Spin Master says that its PlayStation toy line will launch in the spring of 2024.
