Manchester-based tabletop game developer and publisher Steamforged Games recently acquired the intellectual property (IP) of the fantasy card game Kinghill. The 2 player role-playing game was conceived by Petr Marek of Violet Dragon, a tabletop game studio based in the Czech Republic.
In Kinghill, each player rules over a kingdom and battles their opponent to obtain the almighty moonstone. Players are tasked to train the workers of their kingdom, gather resources, and enlist mighty warriors to help them in battle.
VioletDragon launched a Kickstarter campaign back in October that accumulated $40,449 from 962 backers.
“I had followed the initial Kinghill Kickstarter campaign and was incredibly impressed with the game concept and beautifully designed components,” says Steamforged Games Founder and CEO Rich Loxam. “When it became clear there was an opportunity to acquire the IP we leaped at the chance to take it under the Steamforged Games umbrella. We want to take Kinghill to a wider audience, share what we love about the game, and get people playing.”
Fulfillment of the campaign is set to be completed early this month. Remaining copies from the campaign will subsequently be available to purchase on Spearhead Games’ official website.
