Ohio-based Step2 Discovery, the parent company of The Step2 Co. and Backyard Discovery merged Go Configure — its consumer delivery, assembly, and installation business unit — with Select Express & Logistics, a New York-based logistics, distribution, and light assembly outfit.

“The strategy behind this business deal centers on our passion to serve our consumers every step of the way, in the best way possible,” says Tony Ciepiel, CEO, Step2 Discovery. “This merger allows us to bring the industry-leading assembly and installation services of Go Configure together with the best-in-class logistics and delivery services of Select Express, creating a second-to-none, fully integrated white-glove delivery, and assembly service.”

The benefits of the merger went into effect this week with the addition of more, on-demand services, including increased geographic coverage and availability, an expanded technician network for faster scheduling and installation, combined white-glove delivery and assembly service, and more.

The Step2 Discovery product lineup includes toys such as swing sets, climbers, and playhouses paired with home products including pergolas and backyard cabanas.

Step2 will show off new products for fall at the Toy Insider’s Holiday of Play @ Home event on Oct. 22.
