Subway Surfers

With more than 2.7 billion downloads since its launch in May 2012, SYBO GamesSubway Surfers is the most-downloaded mobile game of the decade, according to App Annie.

The news arrives just as the brand prepares to debut a full range of apparel from its Subsurf lifestyle merchandising arm at UK retailer Next. By the end of the month, Subway Surfers Airtime will debut globally on Snap Games, the real-time, multiplayer gaming platform from Snapchat.

“We’ve hit several incredible download records over the years, yet this App Annie report naming Subway Surfers the most downloaded mobile game of the decade is truly epic,” says Mathias Gredal Nørvig, SYBO Games’ CEO. “We’ve pioneered many new programs this year, with partners including Google and Snapchat, as well as our master toy licensee Alpha Group. The coming year promises to be spectacular.”

SYBO Games has big plans for the Subway Surfers brand, set to roll out in the months ahead.

A closed beta will begin next month for the Mark AR app, a collaboration between SYBO and publisher iDreamsSky that uses Google’s ARCore technology. The augmented-reality (AR) experience allows users to create, discover, and share their AR art with friends and followers in real-world locations. The app features Subsurf art in multiple forms and offers a gamified art experience.

Additionally, UK-based Tesco is the next retailer set to stock Subsurf apparel, and a retailer partner for Alpha Group‘s forthcoming toy line will be revealed this spring.
