PlayFusion and TOMY are introducing the Lightseekers Trading Card Game, augmented reality trading cards that are playable as a physical, standalone game. The trading cards can be used to enhance gameplay within the Lightseekers mobile game, and is available to download in the U.S., the UK, and Canada in the Apple App Store, Google Play, and Amazon App Store.
The game, which showcases more than 350 printed cards at launch, allows players to take control of a hero and use an arsenal of cards, featuring spells, creatures, items, and locations, to defeat their opponents. Each card is scannable with the Lightseekers mobile game to unlock in-game effects such as new spells, boosts, or followers that will fight alongside the hero.
While easy to learn, the game also lets players experiment with deck building and tactical play using unique mechanics. The card game is intended for two players, but supports as many players as they want. Games typically last between 10 to 15 minutes, but can vary based on deck complexity, skill level, and number of players.
Cards are available for purchase online at Toys ”R” Us and Amazon in the U.S. and UK, and are also available in Toys “R” Us stores across the U.S. The Intro Pack includes two intro decks, a booster pack, play mats, two health counters, full game rules, two deck storage boxes, a trading shield, and a Tribute Card; and the Starter Decks come with one intro deck, one booster pack, one play mat, one health counter, a deck storage box, a trading shield, and a Tribute Card.
