A record-breaking 44,000 playthings were donated to The Toy Bank at the close of the 112th North American International Toy Fair in February, according to the Toy Industry Association. Two hundred and seventy companies donated the items, which were valued at $612,000.
The playthings – ranging from toys, ride-ons, plush, and everything in between – are currently being sorted for delivery to charities serving New York City-area children in need and foster children around the nation.
TIF’s next toy distribution will be held on April 11th, and will benefit 1,500 children of military families stationed at Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, Calif.
