Toys for Tots had a record-breaking year for its 75th anniversary in 2022.

The U.S. Marine Corps’ premiere community action program distributed 24.4 million toys, books, and games to a record 9.9 million kids last year. There were local collection and distribution campaigns in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, Guam, and the Virgin Islands.

“We were astounded by the support provided by the American public and our corporate sponsors,” says Lieutenant General Laster, President and CEO of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation. “They helped us not only accomplish the mission, but greatly exceed all expectations. These unprecedented numbers were an incredible milestone to celebrate the program’s 75th year of supporting underprivileged children in 833 communities across the nation.”

Since 1947, Toys for Tots has distributed 652 million toys, books, and games to more than 291 million children in need.

Last year, the nonprofit organization also expanded its year-round initiatives, including a partnership with Good360 to support kids and families in need during uncertain times throughout the year. The Toys for Tots Literacy Program distributed 6.3 million books to children in need, while the Foster Care Initiative distributed educational toys, books, games, and school supplies to over 447,000 children. The Toys for Tots Native American Program distributed toys and books to over 200,000 Native American children living on remote reservations.
