Toys "R" Us Canada x Toronto Blue Jays

Geoffrey and Ace (pictured top) are ready to play ball.

Toys “R” Us Canada (TRU) joins the Toronto Blue Jays as an official sponsor this season, inking a three-year-deal in which the new partners seek to create meaningful engagements with kids and families.

TRU will present fun family activations, birthday celebrations, and key marketing promotions — including the Toys “R” Us Canada Family Fun Zone at the Rogers Centre.

“We are thrilled, as Canada’s toy & baby authority, to be partnering with the Toronto Blue Jays for the next three baseball seasons and to be creating fun, interactive play first experiences for kids and their families,” says Melanie Teed-Murch, president of Toys “R” Us Canada. “There is tremendous synergy between our brand and the Blue Jays as we both strive to create moments of joy for families. It’s a partnership that will truly bring play, as a right, to life for kids across the country.”

The Fun Zone will be open during all home games, featuring interactive family activities. Select games will also feature additional TRU activations, along with regular appearances by Geoffrey the Giraffe, who we’re told “may happen to make his baseball debut.”

TRU will also help to celebrate Ace’s birthday in July, with an exclusive birthday party for the Blue Jays’ mascot and Jr. Jays Club members.

Major League Baseball (MLB) opening day is March 28, 2019 — the earliest opening day in the history of MLB.
