Following her most recent appearance on the “Power Kid Podcast” this week, Wind Sun Sky Entertainment (WSS) CEO/Executive Producer Catherine Winder has revealed a new round of executive appointments at the company. WSS recently collaborated with PlayMonster on the launch of Snap Ships and is responsible for the new animated variety show My Singing Monsters: Fandemonium and the animated series based on Robert Kirkman’s Invincible — created in partnership with Skybound North — that is currently streaming on Amazon Prime Video.
Jay Bennett joins the company as vice president of franchise and creative strategy while Romney Grant steps into the role of senior vice president.
“Jay specializes in spearheading and driving innovative cross-platform content strategies by blending first-rate storytelling with digital, social, gaming, branded and interactive extensions,” Winder says. “His varied experience allows our team to dig even deeper into the many groundbreaking new multi-platform applications we are involved in.”
Bennett previously worked on projects for Disney, Netflix, BBC, Walmart and others while Grant previously worked as an independent producer and held executive roles at eOne Unscripted and Paperny Entertainment.
Winder is a former Lucasfilm exec who worked with George Lucas to assemble the team behind Star Wars: The Clone Wars and previously held leadership roles at Fox and HBO in addition to serving as a producer on high-profile projects, including The Angry Birds Movie.
WSS plans to develop new properties that bridge linear and digital content, toy lines, and more.
