ZAG is on a roll this year as the company continues inking new deals to expand the scope of its properties around the world.
Following the expansion of its global merchandising and licensing team this spring, ZAG has secured new and renewed licensing partnerships for its flagship property, Miraculous — Tales of Ladybug & Cat Noir, across apparel, food, publishing, and home decor.
In North America, Little, Brown Books for Young Readers (LBYR), a division of the Hachette Book Group, will create storybooks, chapter books, middle-school novels, sticker books, and more. InSpirit Designs, a division of Spencer Spirit Holdings, will create costumes and accessories for wholesale retailers as an extension of ZAG’s existing deal with Spirit Halloween. Jay Franco (bedding and home décor); Handcraft Manufacturing (underwear); and Customized Personal Solutions, operator of e-commerce shop TV’s Toy Box (print on demand merchandise for kids) will also release new products for the North American market that will roll out over the next year.
In Europe, Panini and Ferrero have renewed their deals for products including sticker albums, magazines, and Kinder Surprise Eggs. Additionally, McDonald’s locations in France recently featured Miraculous Happy Meals. ZAG has also secured other deals for the brand across several categories in Europe, Latin America, and Australia.
In February, Playmates Toys and ZAG’s new toy division, ZAG Lab, previewed a new line of Miraculous action figures, dolls, playsets, and roleplay items that will launch in key territories around the world this fall followed by a fall 2021 launch in the U.S. A $70 million-budgeted Miraculous animated feature co-produced by ZAG, ON Kids and Family, and Planeta Junior will arrive in theaters by 2022.
Miraculous is produced by ZAG and Mediawan Group’s ON Kids and Family.
