The Inventor and Innovation Conference series is back.
From Nov. 17-19, People of Play will hold its annual conference at the Embassy Suites by Hilton in Chicago.
“After two years away, we can’t wait to welcome toy and game inventors from 18 countries around the world,” says Mary Couzin, president of People of Play. “If you have a product idea, you need to be in Chicago for this conference. We pride ourselves in creating the right environment so that new and professional inventors can learn from each other, make the right connections and move forward whether they have a winning idea or it is a stepping stone to the next one.”
The conference starts at 8:30 a.m. on the Nov. 17, when Robert Fuhrer, owner of Nextoy, presents a POP Duo — a panel presentation by two People of Play — from New York Times Crossword Editor and NPR Puzzle Master Will Shortz and Wordle inventor Josh Wardle.
Another highlight for the conference is the POP Pub Night, held at Radio Flyer headquarters on Nov. 17, which will include a roast of Design Edge President Matt Nuccio from other industry executives.
“I must admit that when I first agreed to be roasted it sounded fun,” Nuccio says. “However, now I’m getting reports of roasters calling my kids, my ex girlfriends and even my 5th grade teacher. In addition, I’m hearing that they’re trying to dig up some serious dirt … And to all of that I say, ‘Bring it on!’”
Tickets to the Inventors and Innovation Conferences include entrance to the Toy & Game International Excellence (TAGIE) Awards, which is happening on Nov. 19 at 6 p.m.
