The holiday preparation begins!
The Lumistella Co. is collaborating with HarperCollins Publishers to create a series of Elf on the Shelf books. The series will encompass 11 The Elf on the Shelf universe-themed titles set for release over the next five years. In addition to the series, William Morrow Cookbooks will publish a holiday-inspired cookbook in the Fall of 2024.
The Lumistella Co. created its iconic Elf on the Shelf in 2005 and since then has sold over 19.5 million Scout Elves. The plush character is traditionally used during seasonal celebrations and passed down through generations. The publishing program will introduce kids to the universe surrounding The Elf on the Shelf and will include paperback, hardcover, digital, early reader, picture books, and fiction renditions. The series will feature familiar and new characters from the North Pole.
The origin story will be developed by Chanda A. Bell, the author of The Elf on the Shelf: A Christmas Tradition. The title is ranked among the top-selling titles of the past 25 years across all genres by Publishers Weekly and is the fourth-best-selling kids’ book of the last 25 years by USA Today.
“Our partnership with HarperCollins Publishers is a testament to our unwavering commitment to telling the stories of Santa’s North Pole in innovative and fresh ways,” says Bell, co-founder, and co-CEO of The Lumistella Co. “The enchanted North Pole has a rich, untold history that’s brimming with beloved characters, magic, and action that will transport young readers into a vast universe and an age-old quest to protect the spirit of Christmas.”
The first wave of releases will launch across the U.S. in September of this year, it will include a vibrant sticker book, a picture book, and an I Can Read title. For those who are attending The Play Date in New York City tomorrow, The Lumistella Co. will be a part of The International Women’s Day display at the event.
