People of Play and Happy Camper Live, a 365-day online summer camp program, are partnering to bring the Young Inventor Challenge to summer camp.
The challenge is a competition in which young inventors ages 6 to 18 submit their original toy or game designs, which are then judged by industry experts. The competition is designed to encourage creativity, innovation, and problem-solving skills in children.
The Young Inventor Challenge will now be a part of Happy Camper Live and will take place during the summer camp season from June to August. All children can join the competition this summer, even if they’re not attending a participating camp where the challenge is offered.
“This is an incredible opportunity to inspire and empower the next generation of inventors, while also bringing together two amazing communities that share a passion for play,” says Mary Couzin, founder of People of Play.
Those interested in submitting their ideas can sign up for the challenge at happycamperlive.com. The winner from Happy Camper Live will earn a spot to be considered among other participating camp and retail finalists. All submissions will be evaluated by guest judges who have appeared on Shark Tank.
The winners for each age group will be announced at the end of summer.
