Rainbow Studios is preparing to release a Winx Club reboot, and has named Playmates Toys and Giochi Preziosi as its master toy partners.
Playmates Toys and Giochi Preziosi will share the global distribution of new fashion dolls, accessories, role-play toys, and playsets. Playmates will handle sales, marketing, and distribution within North America, Central America, South America, Asia, Australia, New Zeland, the Middle East, and South Africa, while Giochi Preziosi will be in charge of Europe and the U.K.
Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the original Winx Club series was first released in 2004. The new series hopes to appeal to new audiences as well as nostalgic fans of the original series, bringing back the themes of friendship, magic, and adventure. Much like the original, the new series follows teenage Bloom as she learns to master her magic alongside her fellow fairies in the Winx Club.
“The enduring legacy of Winx Club is a testament to the timeless appeal of its stories and characters,” says Georgia Manolas Walker, Vice President of Marketing at Playmates Toys. “We look forward to unveiling a spellbinding range of products that captures the adventure, friendship, and magic that Winx Club represents.”
Winx Club is premiering globally on Netflix next year.
