    The next season of Saban Brands’ Power Rangers franchise, Power Rangers Dino Charge, will debut on Nickelodeon next year, and roll out globally later in 2015. Bandai America Inc. will continue as the global master toy licensee for the franchise, creating a new dinosaur-themed product line. Saban Brands has also partnered with Cirque du Soleil Media to develop an original kids property inspired by the Cirque du Soleil brand. The deal includes a new TV series, web content, interactive content, and merchandise.

    Laser Pegs will construct a 15-foot-tall, 10-foot-long dinosaur, the Pegasaur, to greet guests at the entrance of the 2014 Toy Fair convention this weekend. A team of four people spent more than a month building the mammoth creature that is illuminated in shades of purple, yellow, green, and red by the thousands of LED lights that are encased inside each tiny Laser Pegs piece used to build it.     LeapFrog Enterprises Inc. is the national prizing sponsor for the PBS Kids Writers Contest. The contest is designed to promote the advancement of children’s literacy skills through hands–on and active learning. PBS stations throughout the U.S. will collaborate with schools, public libraries, and other community-based organizations to present the PBS Kids Writers Contest in local communities, with each station selecting local winners.     Regal Entertainment Group will give away a Limited Edition Lego Minifigure to Regal Crown Club Members at all RealD 3-D Regal locations playing The Lego Movie. Regal guests who purchase a ticket to the 3-D movie will receive one “Pyjamas Emmet” minifigure per transaction at the box office while supplies last.  The movie follows Emmet, an ordinary minifigure, as he tries to save the world when he is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person. The Lego Movie is the first full-length theatrical Lego adventure and will be released in theaters on February 7.

    Warner Bros. Consumer Products (WBCP) enters this year’s American International Toy Fair with an extensive lineup of global licensees in support of its entertainment properties, milestone anniversaries, and upcoming theatrical releases. Bandai America Inc. and Jakks Pacific Inc. will each support Godzilla, from Warner Bros. Pictures and Legendary Pictures, with new toy lines. Jakks’ line of Godzilla products will include an Ultimate Large Scale Godzilla Figure with 12 points of articulation and a length of over 43 inches, making it one of the largest toys in Godzilla history.     With the growing popularity of 3-D printing, Spin Master offers a custom part for its Air Hogs Heli Cage Armored Edition, a helicopter featuring removable plastic armor. Samples of the part were built using a MakerBot 3-D printer, which creates real 3-D objects by laying down drops upon drops of plastic material and building them from the bottom up.     Disguise Inc., the Halloween costume division of Jakks Pacific Inc., has renewed its licensing agreement with Hasbro to produce Halloween costumes and accessories based on top Hasbro brands. The new three-year agreement grants Disguise the rights to manufacture and distribute the Hasbro-branded items to all channels in the U.S. and Canada. The agreement includes the rights to produce Halloween costumes based on the theatrical property Transformers: Age of Extinction, as well as classic Hasbro brands My Little Pony, Transformers, and Mr. Potato Head.

    This Sunday, an all expenses-paid commercial for GoldieBlox—an innovative toy company inspiring girls to push limits and think outside the box through storytelling and basic engineering concepts—will air during the third quarter of the championship game.     The Great Trade-In event by Toys “R” Us has resulted in the removal of more than one million pieces of used and potentially unsafe cribs, car seats, and other products since the program began in 2009. The company’s ninth “Great Trade-In” event began January 24 and run through February 17 in Babies “R” Us and Toys “R” Us stores nationwide.
