    Toysmith has recalled its light-up soft plastic toy frogs and ducks. These toys have a metal conductor pin on the bottom that can come out, posing a potential choking hazard. Consumers are advised to stop using these items immediately, to keep them away from children, and to return any to their place of purchase for a refund.     The Kidz Bop kids will be performing at various venues in New York and New Jersey from August 8 to 11. The kids performed at the Pre-Game show at the New York Mets game on August 8 at Citi Field. One of the members, Eva, will also be singing the National Anthem. The kids will then perform at Rye Playland on August 10, and will play at the Encore Event Center on August 11.

    Mattel and nearly 20 other sponsors provided support for the second Watts Back-to-School Giveaway, which furnished much-needed educational resources for children pre-school age to 12th grade. The event was hosted by Philanthropic Society Los Angeles, a support group of Children’s Institute Inc. (CII). The Watts Back-to-School Giveaway benefited approximately 4,000 to 5,000 children and their families who live in one of Los Angeles’ most challenged communities.     The Western Toy & Hobby Representatives Association (WTHRA) will hold its annual West Coast Toy Trade Show for its second year at the South Point Hotel, Casino & Spa in Las Vegas. WTHRA’s 2014 ToyFest West Show, the largest toy show in the west, will feature more than 600 manufacturers, serving as the West Coast premiere for their new 2014 products.
