In honor of the Smurfs’ return to the big screen, Airbnb is giving fans a once-in-a-blue-moon opportunity: to become a Smurf for a day.
Airbnb is inviting two lucky families to shrink to three apples tall and live like a Smurf in the Belgian forest. Hosted by Nicolas Tytgat, the grandson of Smurfs creator Peyo, fans will spend four hours at Papa Smurf’s mushroom hut honing their Smurf skills for the upcoming film. The experience will be available to book on Airbnb starting July 16.
The chosen families will enter the Belgian woods Aug. 3 and immerse themselves in the Smurfs’ story. Tytgat will lead guests through a typical day in the life of the beloved blue creatures, including making their own hats, archery, and an open-air picnic brimming with Smurf snacks. After they eat, guests will take to the stage and learn a dance from the new film. When they depart, fans will get to keep their goodies forever and even snag a Smurfberry ice cream cone for the road.
Reservations will be available for two groups of up to four people, each with their own 4-hour experience, starting July 16 at airbnb.com/smurfsmovie. Although travel is not included, the experience, activities, and treats are all free of charge. Gargamel is not invited to attend.
