Every kid deserves a toy during the holidays, and every parent deserves to give them that.
This season, Five Little Monkeys, a neighborhood toy store, is acting as Santa for hundreds of families in the Bay Area.
The toy store is distributing 350 vouchers to financially disadvantaged families in the community who would otherwise be unable to buy toys and gifts this year.
Parents, grandparents, and caregivers who receive the vouchers can shop for $50 worth of new toys and gifts for their kids. Local firefighters will be on hand to assist the families with shopping and wrapping.
“The luxury of toys and gifts for the holidays was just beyond reach for too many families. Since play is a critical piece of every child’s development, we decided to make a difference the best way we know – bringing joy to children facing a desolate holiday,” says Stephanie Sala, owner of Five Little Monkeys.
Families can give their children gifts on Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, or any celebration of their choosing.
“Every child deserves cherished memories during this special time of year, regardless of their family’s financial situation,” Sala adds.
The big distribution day is this Saturday, December 7, 2024, at the Five Little Monkeys warehouse in Richmond, California.
