Robosen Unveils Bumblebee Auto-Converting Robot

Robosen is expanding its collection of Transformers robots with Bumblebee.

Just like Robosen’s Optimus Prime and Grimlock robots, Bumblebee automatically converts from a 17-inch-tall robot to a classic Volkswagen Bug. Collectors can control Bumblebee using verbal commands or in the companion app. Bumblebee also features more than 200 lines of dialogue from Dan Gilvezan, who voiced Bumblebee in the original 1984 Transformers series. 

“We wanted to ensure the most authentic experience possible and partnered with Volkswagen, along with Hasbro, to recreate this iconic Bug!” says Hansen Su, Founder and CEO of Robosen. “Bumblebee is sure to entertain and become an amazing addition to our fan’s collections, or if it’s your first, you’re sure to have a blast!”

The Bumblebee robot has been in the works for more than three years, and has the upgrades to show for it. The robot features a new servo-motor that offers more agile and fast driving experiences while in car mode, a more fluid bipedal walking algorithm, and more make the robot better than ever.

 Zigazoo Dives Into the Minds of Generation Alpha

Generation Alpha, consisting of kids ages 7 to 15, is the most technology-savvy generation in history. Toys are unique, customizable, and more extraordinary than ever, all to cater to this new generation of kids who were given the world in the palm of their hands from the time they were born. 

Zigazoo, a social network for kids, and McCrindle studied the generation to learn more about how they learn, spend, and plan for the future.

Many of Generation Alphas are still in elementary school with some of the older ones in early high school. They have made a noticeable impact on the consumer landscape. According to data from McCrindle, it is predicted that Gen Alpha will have an economic footprint of $5.46 trillion by 2029. The report says that 33% of Alphas value saving their money, with 46% saying that they aim to balance spending a little and saving a little.

By 2035, Generation Alpha will make up nearly a quarter of the global population. According to the study, the generation is more hopeful (63%) than worried (37%) about the future. 

Thanks to their access to the world that no other generation has had, Gen Alphas have a broader understanding of its size and the opportunities within. That may be why the study discovered that one in three Alphas hope to travel for work when they grow up. 

The study states that only one in five worries about technology’s impact on the future. Technology has been a part of their lives from the beginning. 36% of them say that they prefer to learn from videos. 19% prefer learning through hands-on activities, 16% through games and apps, 16% through group discussions, and 13% through reading books.

Nintendo Switches It Up with New Digital Upgrades

Gaming consumers can upgrade their gaming experiences with Nintendo Direct’s latest announcements. From virtual game cards to a new smart-device app, Nintendo is leveling up by expanding its content for 2025 and beyond.

Video game enthusiasts can share their games with others via the upcoming virtual game card system. This feature manages purchased digital games, allows gameplay on two different devices, and lets players with a shared Nintendo Account lend or borrow games amongst each other. The virtual game card feature will be available in late April via a hardware system update and will work with the Nintendo Switch 2 upon launch. 

Speaking of new features, Nintendo Today! is a smart-device app that provides a variety of content, including the latest news, videos, and comics of fan-favorite games and characters from select Nintendo franchises. This app will also offer new information about the Nintendo Switch 2 system after the Nintendo Direct presentation on April 2. Consumers with a Nintendo Account can now download Nintendo Today! from the App Store and Google Play. 

Alongside these digital upgrades, Nintendo continues to expand its gaming portfolio and highlight highly anticipated games. During its Nintendo Direct presentation, the video game brand announced new titles such as Pokémon Legends: Z-A, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, and Marvel Cosmic Invasion, which launches later this year.

In Loving Memory: Lori Rubin, 1954-2025

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear colleague and friend, Lori Rubin, a cherished member of the Adventure Media & Events family who served as our Controller for more than a decade. 

After fighting through a cancer diagnosis for more than a year and a half, Lori passed away on March 26 with her loving husband and two daughters by her side. 

Known in our office as “Mama Lori,” she treated everyone at our company like family. A fierce protector, she always led with her heart, took an interest in our lives, and shared so many special moments with each of us.

Her office was a safe haven when we sought a friend or just needed a chat, and we were always met with her undivided attention, warmth, and unfiltered advice. 

We will always remember her profound love of Barbie, and we all took so much delight in presenting her with new dolls to add to her collection. We once threw her a Barbie-themed birthday party in the office, and the decorations stayed up for years to come, which showed us all just how much the gesture meant to her. 

Lori was tenacious about showing up for people. From special days to every day, she was always ready to stand up for anyone in her circle.

While we worked with her every day, our partners across the industry also got to know her over the last 11+ years. Lori leaves behind not only an incredible professional legacy but also a personal one — a reminder of the power of compassion, dedication, and genuine human connection.

Our thoughts are with her family, friends, and all who were lucky enough to know her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

Master Replicas Unveils New Star Trek Collection

Subway Surfers Cruises into Partnership with Crossy Road

Mobile game companies SYBO and Hipster Whale, the studios behind Subway Surfers and Crossy Road, are partnering to merge the two universes. Beginning March 31, the games will have limited-time themed challenges and characters from each series, new gameplay mechanics, and other surprises for players to discover during the special event. This marks the first crossover collaboration for Subway Surfers.

During the three-week event, Subway Surfers players can do the Crossy Road Challenge, finding elements like classic blue trains and earning themed character skins of Chicken Jake and Mallard Tricky.

In Crossy Road, players will find a new Subway Surfers-themed world where they can team up with Jake, Tricky, and the rest of the Subway Surfers crew on a Crossy Road adventure. Along the journey, players will discover mechanics from Subway Surfers and earn subway tokens to redeem for themed prizes, such as characters and cosmetics.

The LEGO Group Drives Up the Technic Line with the Addition of Monster Jam DIGatron

The JCB DIGatron is the latest addition to The LEGO Group’s Technic series. This release showcases JCB’s legacy of innovation to young builders and Monster Jam fans worldwide.

Developed as a collaboration between Monster Jam and The LEGO Group, this set is the first in the Technic series to feature JCB’s distinctive colors and branding. The real-life JCB DIGatron Truck, on which this LEGO set is based, debuted in January 2024 and was engineered by JCB experts in collaboration with Monster Jam.

The model is priced at $27.99 and contains 218 pieces, making it suitable for kids ages 7 and up. It features a pull-back motor that allows builders to recreate iconic Monster Jam moments.

Mo Willems Expands Publishing Partnership

The Pigeon can expect more challenges in the coming year.

Hidden Pigeon Company (HPC) is extending its partnership with Union Square & Co. The two companies have agreed to a new 10-year agreement, which includes licensing for color and activity books, storybooks, readers, board books, workbooks, novelty formats, and more featuring the characters from the world of writer and illustrator Mo Willems, the co-founder of Hidden Pigeon Company.

“Union Square Kids is dedicated to engaging and entertaining young readers, which is also at the heart of what we do at Hidden Pigeon Company,” says Karen K.
