Everplay Labs has been awarded the top prize in the Children’s Product Category during the International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA) produced by the Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA). The event took place in Seattle, Washington, on Sept. 13.
The startup company earned the design award for Superspace, a magnetic play space set. Everplay Labs has previously received the top prize in the Core 77 Design Awards, making this its second design award this year. The company was founded by Ant Erwin, Craig Spencer and Charlie Post.
Superspace is an innovative and eco-friendly playset that comes with felt walls and a sturdy structure, designed using recycled materials like PET bottles and bamboo rods. The set is magnetic and stays in place while kids construct it, encouraging thoughtful and imaginative play, whether kids create it by themselves, with parents, or with siblings or friends.
“The response to Superspace from the design world has been utterly mind-blowing,” Ant Erwin, Joint Founder of Everyplay Labs, said in a statement. “We knew there was a gap in the market for a brand new modular play space for kids and we have worked hard to create Superspace that can be used in infinite different ways as well as being extended to grow with children.”
Superspace also was a finalist for Playset of the Year in the Toy Association’s Toy of the Year Awards. Learn more about Superspace here.
