When it comes to classic toy categories, two of the first that come to mind are action figures and board games. With each having a long history and many variations launching and fading away, they’ve stood the test of time, evolving as newer interests and technologies come along. We took a moment to comb through The Toy Book’s 1987 archives to find some of the more interesting games and action figures from that year.


CRACKERS IN MY BED

Exercise your memory skills by matching the exposed cards to the ones hidden in the slots on the bed. Once a match is found and a cracker is completed, feed it to the kid by placing the cards in his mouth.

LAZER KNIGHTS

Each action figure comes with a laser light beam weapon and armor that has a special, photo-sensitive target on its chest. When this spot is touched by an enemy laser beam, a siren sound will ring to signify a direct hit.

WHO’S POOR?

In this game, players start out “poor” but, with various prompts, are divided into “rich” and “poor.” Each side plays by different rules. The player with the most money at the end of the game wins.
