It’s time for the Fred Rogers Productions team to learn all about a new neighborhood.
While already located in Pittsburgh, Fred Rogers’ headquarters relocated to the SouthSide Works neighborhood to a workspace fit for the kids’ media company. Both practical and cost-effective, the space fosters creative inspiration imperative to the company’s mission of providing quality entertainment for kids and their families.
The new office is influenced by Fred Rogers Productions’ multiple series — including Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood, Donkey Hodie, and Alma’s Way — and features elements that mimic the look and feel of an actual neighborhood. Inside, visitors will see splashes of bold colors, a plaid couch to pay homage to Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, and colorful carpeted walkways and doors inspired by the Mexican War Streets of Pittsburgh’s North Side.
As part of a revamped SouthSide Works space, the company will participate in a fall celebration on Saturday, Oct. 22, highlighted by a special screening of several of Fred Rogers Productions’ series. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., Halloween episodes from Donkey Hodie and Alma’s Way will be shown along with Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood content. The neighborhood event will also feature a pumpkin patch, face-painting, and more, which will take place leading up to the screening.
